We can all use some cleaning shortcuts to keep things spic and span between full cleanings. See the tips below to make cleaning maintenance manageable.
Here are a few of our favorites:
It’s easy to get distracted when cleaning. To help keep you on task and minimize getting sidetracked on other to-do’s, try setting a timer for 30 or 45 minutes. It will help you stay focused and get more done in a short time.
Consider using a shoe holder on the back of a laundry or pantry room door. They are inexpensive, easy to see and access as well as space savers. You can easily grab what you need, do a quick clean up and put it right back.
Keep a basket at the bottom of stairs, or near the family room or kitchen where things tend to accumulate. Throw in items that need to be put away and take a load when you go upstairs or to the bedrooms, etc.
Vacuum attachments don’t always work quite right on lamp shades. Use a lint roller to make a fast job of “dusting” shades.
A cordless, bagless, handheld vacuum cleaner is perfect for everything from kitchen crumbs to dust bunnies. Their mobility makes it easy to grab and take it where you need it (even your car!).
Clorox wipes are great for fast cleanups. They can make easy work of a bathroom or kitchen wipe down and they smell great! These also work well for cleaning up after kids’ craft projects.
And, for when the list is just a bit too long, the best household cleaning tip we can suggest is to find someone else to do it! If you’re ready for help, request an estimate today.
